If I could wake up tomorrow fluent in any 10 (including to my native English) common, living, human languages (no C++ or linear B), what would they be?

Italian
Japanese
Spanish
Mandarin
Cantonese
French
German
Russian

But what would the last one be? Arabic? Hebrew? One of the 35 million languages spoken in India? Many of my choices were based on the food and drink available in those languages. What other language is associated with yumminess? Portugese, for those brazillian barbecue places?

Actually, I think, surprisingly enough, I might just go forAmerican Sign Language. Just for cool points. Even though deaf people have no cuisine to speak of.

Mandarin AND Cantonese! I like your list, but I think I'd pick Cantonese, assuming that that would allow me to read menus at Mandarin places, and go with Thai instead.

PS: ASL is COOL!

Oh, PS: If you're fluent in Italian and Spanish and French, you'll be able to make sense of Portuguese enough to ask for meat, I promise.

Other potentially-yummy languages: Korean, Amharic (Ethiopian), Greek.

I think that one of my languages would definitely be Arabic.

Hmm, okay, now I have to construct a list.

French (I guess I have to put it on there)
Spanish
German
Thai (because I love thai food but I need to be able to ask for no coconut milk)
Cantonese
Hebrew (for the language history)
Russian
Arabic
Japanese
Quechua (just because)

I like Thai, but I don't love it. And I like coconut milk.

I have no idea what Quechua is, so it may be disqualified.

Greek is a great suggestion, I don't know how I missed it.
